Apple's 'iPhone 5': will music streaming be the surprise extra?


Even before Apple has announced the name or the shape of its next iPhone — expected to be unveiled by chief executive Tim Cook next Wednesday — analysts are certain that it is going to dominate the Christmas market in the US and, to a lesser extent, Europe.

Over a quarter of a million people will lose Internet access on Monday

While the total number of computers infected with the DNSChanger malware has dropped by about 20 percent since April 2012, the FBI released updated estimates this week regarding the amount of computers in the world that will lose an Internet connection on 12:01 a.m. EDT Monday, July 9. According to an Associated Press report, over 277,000 computers around the world are still infected and approximately 64,000 of those users are located in the United States. In Canada, the number of infected computers has dropped from 25,000 down to 7,000 due to the combined efforts of the Public Safety Canada and the Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus banned in US

An American judge has banned the sale of Samsung's new Galaxy Nexus mobile phone in the United States after Apple claimed it copied some of the technology used in its iPhone.

A judge had previously banned the sale of Samsung's tablet computer. Both bans will continue until the matter is considered in court.

Once parents relied on their kids to help them set the video recorder. But in the age of apps, iPods and 3D transportable games consoles, the digital divide may have got a tiny wider.

One in six 16% of parents admitted purchasing their kids a tool or gadget that they did not fully understand how to make use of, according to a survey published on Wednesday.
